MARCO ALOM
TENERIFE, 1986
Marco Alom, born in Tenerife in 1986, is a visual artist whose work delves into fundamental concepts such as territory and inhabitation, the history of art, the power of the image, anthropology, and the constant search to understand what shapes us as human beings and what we call culture. For the past few years, Alom has resided and worked on the island of El Hierro, a place that has profoundly influenced their creative process and vision of the world.
Having graduated with a degree in Fine Arts from the University of La Laguna in 2011, Alom has developed an artistic career marked by exploring concepts linked to identity and culture. Their work combines elements of tradition with a contemporary gaze, exploring how the past and present interact to shape the human experience. Throughout their career, Alom has participated in numerous art fairs, including Expo Chicago, Pinta Miami, and Estampa Madrid, among others.
Alom has held various solo and group exhibitions, with a notable solo show at Galería Artizar (La Laguna, 2022). Their work was also featured in the Contemporary Art Hall of Santa Cruz de Tenerife and the CAEI of Fuerteventura in 2021. Alom’s work continues to be a testament to the complexity and richness of contemporary art in the Canary Islands.
