Gonzalo González

Tenerife, 1950

Born in a village in the north of Tenerife, La Cruz Santa. Since childhood shows a great inclination towards art. He began his studies of Fine Arts at the University of La Laguna, later finishing them at the Complutense University of Madrid. After a short time as a teacher, he abandoned this activity to devote himself exclusively to creation. Parallel to his pictorial and sculptural work, he has developed an extensive work as a draftsman, illustrator, engraver and set designer.

He is a member of the Real Academia Canaria de Bellas Artes de San Miguel Arcángel. In 1975 he held his first individual exhibition at the Yles Gallery in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria.
Palmas de Gran Canaria his series “Homotecas”. Since then he has exhibited his work in more than thirty individual exhibitions as well as numerous group exhibitions.
His work has been present in exhibitions held in Madrid, Barcelona, Seville, La Coruña, Gran Canaria, Palma de Mallorca, Santa Cruz de Tenerife. Trieste (Italy), Cologne
(Germany), Milan (Italy), Vienna (Austria), Bologna (Italy), Bordeaux (France), Havana (Cuba), Caracas (Venezuela) and New York (USA).
