Artizar Gallery first opened its doors in 1989 in a historic 17th-century Canarian house located in the heart of San Crist\u00f3bal de La Laguna\u2014a city that, at the time, had very few spaces dedicated to contemporary art. Its founder, Carlos E. Pinto, had already been deeply involved in promoting Canarian art through various publications and projects. With Artizar, he gave shape to a pioneering initiative that, over time, would become one of the key cultural references in the Canary Islands.<\/p>\n

From the very beginning, the gallery focused on local artists, supporting the art scene in the Canary Islands during a period of limited visibility. However, as our network of collectors and collaborators grew, so did our artistic scope. Today, we represent more than twenty artists from across Spain, and for over a decade, we have developed a curatorial line specializing in contemporary Cuban art. The historical and cultural ties between the Canary Islands and the Caribbean have played a central role in this process, allowing us to represent renowned Cuban artists in Europe.<\/p>\n

Our annual program includes around eight exhibitions across our two locations\u2014Tenerife and Madrid\u2014in addition to regular participation in international art fairs, collaborations with both public and private institutions, and the promotion of our artists at biennials around the world. Artizar also supports young creators through grant programs and editorial projects.<\/p>\n

With more than thirty years of history and now in its second generation, Artizar Gallery continues to serve as a bridge between cultures and geographies, exporting Canarian and Spanish art and introducing some of the most powerful voices in contemporary Cuban art to new audiences.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t
